Pitt Dhirana 2019

In coordination with the University of Pittsburgh’s own classical dance team, Nrityamala, the Dhirana 2019 Executive Board is proud to present the seventh installment of our classical dance competition, Dhirana. The event will be located in the very heart of our Pittsburgh campus, at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall on February 23rd, 2019. Dhirana is a nonprofit organization, and 100% of the proceeds from the show will go to benefit the Birmingham Free Clinic of Pittsburgh, which provides free medical care to Pittsburgh's underserved populations. After hosting Laasya 2012, a traveling dance competition, the University of Pittsburgh and Pitt Nrityamala created Dhirana to foster Indian classical dance interest in the community. This competition provides a stage for collegiate classical dance teams from across the country to showcase their talents. Please come out and support the Indian classical arts, the hundreds of dancers who've put in months of hard work, and the Birmingham Free Clinic!
